We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable laws.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your first and last name, phone number, email address and preferred contact method.
  • Project details — the type of project, approximate measurements, the postal code of the project and your expected budget.
  • Photos — any photos you choose to upload. Photos are resized in your browser before upload, which also removes hidden information such as the location where the photo was taken.

Payment information

Site visit deposits are processed by Stripe, Inc. You enter your card or payment details directly on Stripe’s secure checkout page. We never receive or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us the payment amount, date, status and limited reference information.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information such as your browser type and a one-way, scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, which we use to protect the website from spam and abuse.
  • How you found our website, such as the referring website or advertising campaign tags in the link you followed.
  • If we enable website analytics in the future, information about how you use the website (for example, pages visited), collected using cookies or similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To prepare your estimated price range and review your project.
  • To contact you about your estimate, your site visit and your project, using your preferred method.
  • To process your site visit deposit and keep accurate business and tax records.
  • To improve our website and services, and to understand which marketing is effective.
  • To protect our website, prevent fraud and spam, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Consent

By submitting an estimate request, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy, including being contacted about your project. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide an estimate or complete your project.

Service providers

We share personal information only with trusted providers that help us run our business, including:

  • Vercel Inc. — website hosting;
  • Supabase Inc. — secure database and photo storage;
  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing;
  • analytics providers, if and when we enable website analytics.

These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries. We require our providers to protect personal information and use it only to provide services to us.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including to meet legal, accounting and tax requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect information

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls and a password-protected administration area. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Cookies

The website uses only the cookies needed for it to work (for example, to keep our staff signed in to the administration area). If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy.

Your rights

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. To make a request or ask a question, contact us by replying to any message you have received from us about your estimate.
